Whistler Snow Forecast: Big 72-Hour Dump + Colder Temps Down to Valley Level (Holiday Conditions Incoming)
Whistler is setting up for a major 72-hour snowfall cycle, and the trend we love to see is here: temperatures are dropping right down toward valley level, bringing a more “full winter” feel to the Village and lower mountain.
With Whistler already sitting on a 100cm+ alpine base, this incoming storm (plus colder valley temps) should have the resort looking absolutely unreal for the holidays—deeper coverage, a fresher lower mountain, and that classic snowy Whistler vibe.
Alpine snowfall at a glance (next 72 hours)
Based on the current alpine forecast, here’s what’s lining up:
-
Sunday: ~63 cm (20 + 8 + 35)
-
Monday: ~36 cm (13 + 12 + 11)
-
Tuesday: ~54 cm (14 + 12 + 28)
Potential 72-hour total (alpine): ~153 cm
This isn’t a one-and-done hit—it’s a multi-day stack, which is exactly what builds depth and improves coverage across the mountain.
Temperatures & snowline: colder air pushing into the valley
The bigger story behind the snowfall is the temperature trend. Alpine temperatures stay decisively wintery (roughly -4°C to -8°C across the first part of the cycle), and the freezing level drops sharply—from around ~1,750 m early Monday toward ~850–1,000 m as the storm progresses, with even lower levels showing beyond that.
Translation: snow is increasingly reaching lower elevations, and Whistler’s valley should look and feel far more “mid-winter” as we move into the holiday period.
